Configure iSCSI using a wizard

Unisphere provides monitoring and management for Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI) directors, iSCSI ports, iSCSI endpoints, IP interfaces, and IP routes.

About this task

iSCSI Configuration Wizard provides support for a streamlined user experience in setting up the necessary interfaces for iSCSI connection.

To configure iSCSI using a wizard:

Steps

  1. Select a storage system.
  2. Select System > iSCSI to open the iSCSI dashboard.
  3. From the Actions panel, click iSCSI Configuration Wizard.
  4. Select the director.
  5. Click the Use custom name checkbox to specify an endpoint name, otherwise a name is automatically assigned.
  6. Enter a value for the Network ID.
  7. Enter a value for the TCP Port.
  8. Optional: Click the Use Existing IP Interfaces checkbox.
  9. Optional: Click the Advanced Options checkbox. Click the checkboxes for one or more of the following:
    • Volume Set Addressing
    • Environ Set
    • Avoid Reset Broadcast
    • Disable Q Reset on UA
    • Soft Reset
    • SCSI 3
    • SCSI Support1(OS2007)
    • SPC2 Protocol Version
    • Open VMS
    • ISID Protected

    Click OK.

  10. Click NEXT.
  11. Select the director port of the first IP interface.
  12. Enter the IP address, Prefix, Network ID, VLAN ID, and Max Trans Unit.
  13. Optional: Click Add icon to add an additional IP interface. Repeat the previous two steps for each new interface. Optionally select the Use Jumbo Frames checkbox to apply jumbo frames to all the IP interfaces.
  14. Optional: Click Delete icon to delete an IP interface.
  15. Click NEXT.
  16. View the Summary page.
  17. Optional: Clear the Enable iSCSI Endpoint checkbox, or leave it selected to enable the endpoint.
  18. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.

    • Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
